1.Overview
If you need to take a break from Meelance or wish to permanently wipe your profile records, we provide separate flows for temporary account deactivation and permanent account deletion.
Deactivating your account archives your public portfolio items and suspends notifications while preserving details for future reactivations. Deleting your profile wipes all records permanently in compliance with user data policies.
2.Requirements
Before launching deactivation or deletion protocols, please ensure that:
- ✓Settle Balances — All outstanding casting payments or platform balances are fully paid.
- ✓Cancel Subscriptions — Active recruiter recruiter packages or billing cycles are deactivated.
3.Step-by-Step Instructions
Deactivating Your Account (Temporary)
- Log into your dashboard, click your profile thumbnail, and select Account Settings.
- Inside the Account Management section, locate the Deactivate Profile option.
- Specify your deactivation reason (optional) and click Temporarily Deactivate.
- Your profile is instantly archived, disabling public visibility and pausing all notification routing.
Deleting Your Account (Permanent)
- Open Account Settings and locate the Delete Profile option in Account Management.
- Carefully read the warning prompts summarizing the data wipe parameters.
- Enter your password to authenticate your request. Click Confirm Permanent Deletion.
- Your account enters an automatic 14-day deletion queue, after which all records are permanently erased.
4.Important Notes
Permanent account deletion is irreversible. All creatives records, portfolio uploads, applications history, casting logs, and messages are deleted. Meelance cannot restore a deleted profile.
5.Troubleshooting
Account Reactivated Unexpectedly
Logging back into a deactivated account using your email, password, or linked Google/Apple logins will reactivate the profile. Avoid executing sign-ins on linked devices if you want to remain deactivated.
Unable to Complete Deletion Prompt
If the system reports errors during deletion: confirm you have canceled all premium subscriptions. Active billing subscriptions block automatic account deletion workflows.
