1.Overview
Your email address is your primary identity anchor on Meelance. It is used to deliver job match notifications, routing updates, identity checks, and security alerts.
If you transition between creative agencies, change your business domain, or simply want to change your login credentials, you can easily modify your email address in your settings.
2.Requirements
Before initiating the email update procedure, make sure you prepare:
- ✓New Address — A secure email address that you have regular access to.
- ✓Validation Access — Ability to check messages on both the new and old email addresses.
3.Step-by-Step Instructions
- Log into your profile, click your profile thumbnail, and open Account Settings.
- Inside the Profile & Details pane, click the Edit button adjacent to your current email address.
- Input your new email address in the field. Confirm your identity by re-entering your account password. Click Verify Email.
- A 6-digit confirmation key will be sent to your new email address. Paste this code into the Meelance screen to verify control.
- For security parameters, a notification approval email will also be sent to your old address. Approve the transfer link to finalize the update.
4.Important Notes
Recruiter and business dashboard authorizations are tied specifically to corporate domains. If you switch from a company email to a public domain (e.g. @gmail.com), you may lose recruiter publishing capabilities.
5.Troubleshooting
Verification Key Not Arriving
If the 6-digit code does not arrive in your new email's inbox within 5 minutes:
- Check your spam, updates, and promotions folders.
- Ensure there are no typos in the new address you entered.
- Whitelist mail.meelance.com inside your email client rules.
Error: "Email Already in Use"
This message indicates that another active or deactivated profile on Meelance is already using that email address. You must log into that other account to delete or change its address before it can be assigned here.
